A nation divided against itself cannot stand
And we are deeply divided
Choosing sides
And drawing lines in the sand
The winds of change will erase these lines eventually
But the status quo is well defended by the powers-that-be

There is a revolution coming
Yes, there is a revolution coming
A revolution that will be peaceful
If we are wise enough
Compassionate if we care enough
Successful if we are fortunate enough
But a revolution that is coming
Whether we will it or not

Our nation is no longer a nation
Of the people, by the people, or for the people
Our government has been corrupted
It is under the control
Of Wall Street, bankers
Multi-nationals and their CEOs
They are doing quite well for themselves
And they don’t seem to be concerned about everybody else
But, there is a revolution coming
Yes, there is a revolution coming
A revolution that will be peaceful
If we are wise enough
Compassionate if we care enough
Successful if we are fortunate enough
But a revolution that is coming
Whether we will it or not

Some people see things as they are (and ask why)
Some people see things as they could be (and ask why not)
Few among us will have the greatness to bend history itself
But each of us can work for change
If we all do what we can to make this world a better place
In the sum of our acts we will bend history
